This is one of my favorite podcasts- and not just because they've said nice things about Bushi Tales. ;)
Each week they review one Marvel comic, one DC comic, and one comic from another publisher.
The hosts, John and Bob, have been very supportive of us and indie comics, and probably keep a lot of publishers (including Marvel and DC) in business from just the comics they buy every week!
Check out their show (I really like the Super-Fan episodes), and the amazing photos of their collections they have on their site. John also does The Mayo Report where he runs the numbers for comic sales- very informative!

There will be a signing at Book Haven in Southaven, MS on April 5th 2008 from 12 noon until 2:00 pm.
Creator of Bushi Tales, Lin Workman will be there along with Kevin Williams and Ronnie Shenks. Kevin drew and wrote a back up story called Marshall Muley. Ronnie wrote the pro story called Quest for Hope. Both stories appear in BT #3. Special guest Muley the Mule will also be appearing.
There will be plenty of copies of the new release Bushi Tales #3 as well as #1 and #2. So be sure to mark your calendars!

David Beaty, Lin Workman, and Micah Stewart announce the nationwide release of Bushi Tales, Issue #3 “Marked For Death”. It’s the Bushi of Hachiman versus the Cyclops monster in this 3rd part of the “Last Titan” storyline. Many questions will be answered in this issue as the four female samurai prepare for their big upcoming quest.
Instead of the normal 32 pages, this issue of Bushi Tales is a 48 page comic with black-and-white interiors, a full-color painted front cover by Beaty and Workman, full color back cover illustration by Dave Beaty, extras such as 2 back up stories, 3 new character bio pages, pin-ups by syndicated cartoonist Greg Cravens (The Buckets), NBC HEROES Comic-Con contest winner Andrew Chandler, and Emmy Award winner Bret Blevins - and no price increase! Cover price will stay at only $3.95 to give readers more bang for their buck.

Stepping out from the darkness and illuminated by the red glow was a rather odd-looking man. Slightly taller than Karen, he had pale skin and spikes of white hair that hung over penetrating eyes. He was wearing a blue-gray robe that came to points, layered and speckled like the scales of a mythical dragon. “Pardon me,” he said in a piercing voice as cold as the night air. He reached down and picked up the glowing red object.

| Congratulations to Andrew Chandler! |

Recently, NBC issued a charge to fans of the hit TV show HEROES. The contest was to either adapt a comic book script or mix and mash a music video. Andrew Chandler accepted the worldwide call to apply his artistic merit to the graphic novel challenge, on the grounds that he had thoroughly enjoyed the first season and had nothing better to do at the time. The winner was announced by none other than Mr. Jeph Loeb himself at the HEROES discussion panel during this year's Comic-Con in San Diego. When the dust had cleared, Andrew was left standing alone as the triumphant conqueror. Sadly, the hero of HEROES was unable to accept the honor in person and is still awaiting formal recognition from the National Broadcasting Company. Amidst accolades, he has tried to retain his humility above all and insists that he could receive no greater prize than the respect and admiration of his fellow cartoonists.

| MIKE WIERINGO PASSES AWAY AT 44 |

The comics industry has lost one of its most respected members this weekend – artist Mike Wieringo has passed away at the age of 44, according to numerous sources speaking with CBR News. Details are unclear right now, but early reports say he experienced a sudden and massive heart attack. Newsarama is reporting that Sunday afternoon Wieringo experienced chest pains and did call 911, but first responders were unable to reach him in time.
I never met Mike Wieringo but I'm a big fan of his work. Another creator taking ahead of his time like Marshall Rogers. Our condolences to Mike's family and his friends.

Sean "Cheeks" Galloway (Hellboy animated, new Sensational Spiderman animated, Teen Titans GO! comics) will be sharing space with his bud Howard Shum at table # E2. We got to meet Sean in Seattle- great guy and has some kick-butt sketch books.
Jonnie Allan and his comic The Miscellaneous Adventures of STYKMAN™ will be in Hall C at booth #2201.
And I heard that our friend Tess Fowler will be at the InkWorks booth at different times over the weekend, and that there might be a Mike Norton sighting at the DC booth.

A brief update this week. I'm knee deep in production on several fronts and will have lots of cool info and preview art to show in the coming weeks. Also don't forget that this is the last week to turn in your Previews order for Bushi Tales #1.
